Kevin

Hi, my name is Addisyn Funchion and I am 12 years old.  I currently attend Central Middle School's STEM program for 7th grade. This is my first year showing a market steer.  My steer, Kevin, is a white faced angus cross born March 27th, 2023.

Kevin has been raised on an open pasture with free choice hay, show cattle feed, and always has salt and a mineral supplement available.

Kevin was purchased late last summer from a local organic farm in Prince Frederick, MD as a weaned calf.  He had not been previously worked with so I had to start the breaking process, which meant getting dragged around a field, a lot, but we eventually worked it out.

Kevin is very sensitive and only trusts me.  He doesn't like other people handling him, even my parents who help care for him.  When working with Kevin, I have to stay calm or he gets scared.  I learned this at a spring show when I got really nervous and he refused to walk.  Kevin has helped me learn how to stay calm even in stressful situations.  I have spent almost every day this past year working with him and believe he is ready for the county fair.

I would love for you to come visit me and Kevin at the fair and hope you consider bidding on him.

There are no bids for the lot at this time

Welcome to the 2024 Anne Arundel County 4H/FFA Livestock Auction

NEW TIME THIS YEAR- AUCTION STARTS @ 6 PM

We have a superior lineup of steers, hogs, lambs, market goats, and turkeys for sale.  We are proud of our Anne Arundel County 4H and FFA members working hard to raise quality meat to feed your family.  These members have all taken training to raise animals to the best quality standards.  All youth members have signed feed assurance documents indicating the animals have also been fed high-quality diets.  This auction is the culmination of all their hard work and dedication.

Club baskets are new this year. If you would like to support clubs directly, consider bidding on their baskets.

Please preview the animals. Consider coming out to watch the shows:

  • Thursday at 7 pm is the Market Goat Show, followed by the Market Steer Show.
  • Friday at 7 pm in the Market Pig Show.
  • Saturday at 9 am is the Market  Lamb Show.
  • Market Turkeys are judged on Wednesday, and turkeys weighing over 20 lbs will be auctioned.
